Perfection...

Meet my latest little buddy... 3yo "O"....

 

I photographed her 2yrs ago when she just turned 1yrs... There was one image that her parents and I thought was just hilarious...

I remembered then... every chance she got..she would flash me those brand new pearly whites....with the biggest...silliest grin that only a 1yo can do.

Fast forward 2yrs later.  She just turned 3yrs....talking up a storm.  So we chatted a bit..

Me: So you remember when I came over the last time?

O: "Oh yes! Yes.. yes.. I remember!"

Me: "Really?  You do?"

O: " I've been practicing..."

Me: " Practicing what?"

Well "O"... you nailed that bigpearlywhitetoothygrin that you tried so hard to show me 2yrs ago.  Glad I was here to captured it again!

Sheer Perfection... :-)

Computer problems...

We had a major hard drive crash here.  If you waiting on your on line galleries..etc... it will take at least 5-7 business days from today.  We are going through the recovery process right now.

Thank you for your patience and understanding.

Can someone please return the whooping stick?

'Cause this mom really needs it... now.  I do NOT remember 11 year olds looking like this!

Because I rarely showcase these...

"Hey Audrey... do you photograph families?  The reason I ask is because I don't really see them on your website."

Well..yes I do... but I don't photograph them traditionally...

But the real reason I don't have many family images on my website is because... well.. that site needs to be updated..... really...it does! Again.. fingers crossed... my new website will launch in about 2 weeks.  It will be full of all new work with the exception of some old favorites of mine.

Here is a family image I captured the other day.  Her 2 yo was the female version of my 4yo... always on the go!

So this wasn't what I envisioned..

know those newborn shots I tend to do...in chairs...bookcases...bowls... in (insert household object of choice..)

Well... there is always a spotter.  That is usually a parent.  After all.. I can't catch a baby..and take the picture at the same time right? (I can multi-task..but not THAT well...)

Take a look at this shot...

Normally, I would have had Dad cropped out... and he thought he was going to be cropped out... so that expression of his... well...he is in serious awe of his boy.  Sheer happiness.  He didn't know his picture was being taken.  OK.. I will admit...that I didn't plan on taking his picture either!

How on earth could I crop that expression out?

On a side note with my upcoming workshops....

I had a few cancellations, so I am contacting those on my wait list to see if they are interested in those spots.  So make sure you all are checking your emails! (including SPAM folders...)

Gotta love kids...

Meet "A"...

She is a Ford Model who I photographed a few weeks ago.  She was rather "reserved" at her session, but I sorta saw through that.  I figured she would speak up when she needed too. 

I photographed her twin sister (also a Ford Model) a few months earlier... but "A" had braces...so we waited to have her session. 

Well... "A" sent me an email, and I replied to her that I was going to feature her on my blog... since I really enjoyed her session.

(you know where this is going right?  OK.. maybe some of you don't know.. so bear with me!)

You know how us silly adults get.  Life and business gets in the way...and your not able to update your blog like you *promised*...but it takes a tween to point that flaw out to you.

So I get an email today that stated (not verbatim...)

"Hi Audrey... when are you featuring me on your blog?  I've been checking everyday.." 

Translation: You didn't post when you said you would!

You're right A.  So very right.  Think of it this way... the best things always come with a bit of anticipation.

I seriously LOVED your session "A"!  You and your sisters definitely rock!

Moving in Close... Part I

A question I hear a lot... " Do you still take close ups of the face?  You don't post many on your blog..."

Well..yes I do.  I always do.  So I go back to my blog... and I realized.. they were right!

So... this is my tribute to the close up...broken up into parts. (..because I tend to get tired after resizing a lot of pictures! ha-ha!)

   

ok.. I just realized.. some aren't THAT close.. but close enough to focus on the subject..and not the scene.  Well... Part II.. I will get closer!

Some quick news...

I will be launching a new alwphotography site in about 2 weeks (fingers crossed...) this will go along with my big announcement that will go along with my website launch.

Hiring.... ...as I came around the bushes.. I heard lots of laughter..(even barking...)  Boy was I excited... but as I came around....I soon realized how SEVERELY underdressed I was.

(..I think someone spiked the Monkey's tea....)
