Here's another cute toddler...don't let her height fool you. Her Dad is almost 7ft tall, and her mom is 6ft!
For those photographers that have the photographer's book on Amazon that I am in.. she is the middle baby on the left hand side. She was 6 months old in that picture.
Look at how she has grown!

More kids later!

I've neglected the blog for a bit. I've been working on an exciting project that I hope to share with you all end of October...early November. My September workshop guys/girls know what I am talking about because they heard me yell out about it during a break when I was in my office! haha!
In the meantime... here is a cute toddler to share! He was hilarious!
I will share more of some lovely babies (even a set of cute triplet boys!), kids, and teens that I was lucky enough to work with these past few weeks.
More later!

I have a few seniors booked so far this year....but I gotta say... when this is the *first* picture you take....

I instantly knew this will be a fun session. She was very happy to finally be in her senior year..so we had some fun. We were playing with light...and we were rained out, but that didn't stop us.....

...and when did senior girls in highschool start looking like this!? :-)
Until Next Time..

Yes.. my famous baby who is on the front page of my website. Yes.. my 20 month old cover girl...(.still in the "thinking phase" of this whole new baby thing...mind you..) is now a big sister to a new baby brother...
This is a serious sneak peek because mom hasn't seen all of these yet!

Congrats to the entire family!
Until Next Time..

I went to photograph this adorable 3 year old and her two siblings. The mom wanted some pictures of just her 3 year old as well because she hasn't had her picture taken alone.
I thought.. no problem! Mom said.. "she will give you the most trouble.." Now this is the 2nd time in the past two weeks that I've heard these words about a 3yo. (the other 3 yo old..has two siblings as well! See the post after this one..) Of course...I love a challenge..
So I arrive, and I thought she was great. For us parents.. when we see one of our own children..running away...turning...jumping...and doing everything except what we think they should do.. it seems as if they aren't corporating.
Well.. she gave me a good 40 minutes.. (and this included clothing changes too!).. but sometimes that is all you need...

I have so many cute images of this little girl...that I had to just pick a few to post without giving it much thought.
...now remember the running that I mentioned earlier? This is how most of her little "segment" of the session went...

Until next time...

I've been "tagged" twice this week. This is where I have to give up 8 facts about me that no one really knows....
I'm pretty boring.. so here it goes!
1 - I never wear socks....ever...which is funny since I live in Chicago. Ironically my feet don't smell. haha!
2 - I have a major designer handbag problem addiction.
3 - I know how to sing really well.
4 - Im not shy at all.. but I won't sing in public...too shy. (haha!)
5 - Im deathly afraid of the movie Halloween, and all of the sequels. My husband has to change the channel if the commerical of the movie comes on. I can't hear the music.
6 - we really have 5 boys...but we lost one.. Brandon...when I was 6 months pregnant.
7 - I've always wanted a tattoo..but chicken out...because I am afraid of what my mother will say. (..this is serious...)
8 - I am married to my highschool sweetheart. We've been together since I was a sophmore in highschool.
Ok.. now I have to pick some people to tag!

Because I can't post without adding a picture...here are some...

What's funny is that clients know that I don't mind hanging out with the kids...while they do their thing. I just happened to look around to see where his parents were..and I caught them having way too much fun on their own! Caught ya!

Until Next Time!

This is going to be a long blog entry...
Im going to combine the June, and both the August workshops in the one post..and share some of the participants images..along with my own as well. (if some of the participants haven't had a chance to send me any images, and would like for me to post them.. just send them, and I will add them to this entry! I have a sinking feeling that I am missing people!)
Anyways..I've always said I wasn't going to do more workshops.. simply due to some of the projects I have coming up. I'm going to start working on my book (finally!), and I have more commercial assisgnments coming up which require travel. However, due to some recent events over these past few days..and talking with some close friends of mine.. I will do more workshops for 2008...definitely. :-) If things didn't happen the way that they did these past few days, I probably wasn't going to have more. Now.. I most definitely will. So we are looking at a few next year...maybe 3-4, and I might even travel for one...maybe if the city is where I have some commercial work scheduled.
I know I have a lot of email inquiries regarding future workshops, and thank you! If I haven't responded to them as of yet.. I most definitely will. Feel free to send me an email again if you haven't heard from me yet.
With that said..
I had 3 great groups that I haven't had a chance to blog about because I've been traveling. My June girls, and my two August groups! They ALL were great, great groups. There are so many of these men and woman that you will be hearing from in the portrait world, as well as the commercial world.
Here are some images from each workshop. For those that have attended the 2007 business workshops, the first August group really liked an idea of a private message board. So this will be starting soon. I will be 100% active on the board sharing new ideas regarding business..etc..., and one of our participants from 1st August workshop will be moderating. So look for that information to arrive via email very soon!
ok.. onto the images!
Some from the June workshop...Its always fun to see what everyone captured from the kids and teens..
Here are some images from Zaneta of Telling Stories Photography
and Stefanie Weber
some from Miss Candi Leonard
Onward to the first August workshop..on the 11th and 12th...
Justyna's images of Funky Monkey Photo I just love to say her business name!

...and one of Lavada's... of Vada Michelle Photography

..some from Noelle of Creation Stream Studios in Atlantawho came with her very supportive husband/business partner. They make a GREAT team! I think they went and did some damage at the camera store on lenses after the workshop! Did you all end up buying the 1.2 lens??

Julie C. Butler from Canda came down with her fabulous French accent! Here are some of her images..

Julie came down from Canada with her best friend Natalie Bertrand Check our her blog. Nat..I didn't want to swipe any images off your blog so I am linking you!
Here's one of mine from that workshop...
Onward to most recent August workshop on the 21st and 22nd... I don't think I've had anyone send me anything yet.. so those who came feel free to send me images, and I will add to this post. We had participants all the way from Japan, Canada, and the Netherlands come. It was great! This workshop caused a lot of confusion amongst those who were coming. Because my workshops don't have a name.. those who were coming for the August workshop..simply called it that.. the "August workshop". Well Julie said at the 1st August workshop that she thought a friend of her's was suppose to come. She was certain she was on the list. The only list I had available was the list for that particular workshop. Well during the week.. Carmen (from the 2nd workshop..) was calling me frantically on my off day saying that she heard she missed the workshop..and she was certain she had her days right! She did have her days right of course...so at the workshop on the 21 and 22nd...and we all gave that particular workshop a name due to the fact that no one knew about it.. but I won't list what we called it....so that there is no confusion! ;-)
It rained for most of the workshop..and it was super humid. In true creative form for everyone involved...we all went outside in the rain, smut, and mud and photographed of course! We had a GREAT group of kids, and parents..so it worked out great!
Looks like the images from the most recent workshop are starting to come through... keep them coming!
Here are some from Michelle Rasmussen Thanks Michelle!
Here's one from the VERY talented Suwanee Lennon....
Here are a few of my images...

I have to try to remember to get group images at each workshop.... here's a group image from the first August workshop...

and group #2
Of course Lauren..done in true commerical photographer form had to be different and take MY picture while I was taking the group picture. She will have a spectacular, and prosperous commerical career ahead of her. As soon as she gets her website in order.. I will be doing a spotlight on her..as well as other photog's who came to all the workshops this year!
Until next time! A BIG HUGE thanks again to all for their kind words and encouragement!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
